CEO/FounderNnenna Okoturo, known professionally as Nnennaya Kelly, is the formidable CEO and co-founder of NAYA MUSIC. With an impressive blend of talent and experience, she brings a powerful and dynamic vision to her leadership role. Nnenna’s professional journey is anchored in corporate Human Resources and IT consultancy, where she has masterfully applied her expertise to drive exceptional organizational success. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources from the prestigious Catholic University of America and a Master of Science in Information Technology from the renowned London School of Economics. Her career spans a diverse range of industries, with accomplishments at some of the largest investment banks, top 'Big Four' consulting firms, and leading blue-chip companies. Nnenna's passion for music ignited in her early years at a music school, and she later pursued a degree in Opera as a mezzo-soprano singer. Though she faced challenges that prompted a transition into the corporate sector, her determination to return to her musical roots has only strengthened. Now, as she launches NAYA MUSIC, she confidently steps back into the spotlight, being the first artist signed to her own label alongside her son, OB1. As an American-Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Nnennaya Kelly is rapidly establishing herself as a powerful force in the Afrofusion and soul music genres. Her music effortlessly merges Afrobeats, soul, R&B, and dancehall, featuring an inspiring array of love songs. With a clear vision, she is set to attract a new wave of female and male artists under 25, poised to make a significant mark in the industry. In addition to her musical ambitions, Nnenna is deeply committed to philanthropy, having founded a charity to establish the Venerable Children's Wellness Center in Africa. A portion of her artistry is dedicated to supporting this vital NGO. This ambitious vision is on the cusp of realization, and Nnenna is excited to build this empire, leveraging her remarkable talent and expertise. In her spare time, she provides pro-bono legal advice through her consultancy practice and is actively involved in initiatives across Africa that focus on creating service sector-led employment opportunities for young people.
Robert Murphy
Director ManagerRobert Murphey, known as Spud, serves as the dynamic Managing Director of NAYA MUSIC, bringing over a decade of unparalleled experience in music promotion and management. As a proactive artist manager, he expertly oversees a diverse roster of immensely talented artists across Europe and Africa, including the UK, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. In addition to artist management, Robert provides crucial financial support, promotional assistance, and invaluable industry connections to a wide array of artists and DJs. His expertise extends to organizing impactful music-related events that resonate within the community. Recently, he has been commissioned to launch his own TV show dedicated to celebrating Afro/Caribbean music, culture, fashion, and food, which is set to captivate audiences in 46 African countries. Robert's extensive background in business development further enhances his capabilities. With a rich and diverse multi-travelled background, including German influences and extensive experiences throughout the Americas, Far East, and Australia, he brings a global perspective to the table. Currently, he is spearheading a new charity initiative in Ghana aimed at raising awareness and support for Sickle Cell disease, showcasing his commitment to both the music industry and charitable endeavors—principles that are fundamental to NAYA MUSIC. Through strong partnerships with families, schools, and dedicated volunteers, TimeOut4Africa makes a significant impact by helping underprivileged children excel academically and athletically. Jonathan has been an exceptional mentor to my NGO as we advance the development of the Venerable Sydney Children's Wellness Center. With his extensive background as the former owner and current associate of Inner Caucus—now under the esteemed 96.3 FM Howard University radio station in Washington, DC—he brings invaluable expertise to our mission. Inner Caucus is celebrated for organizing the prestigious International New Year's Eve Gala, a highlight in the Washington, DC social calendar.
